Guide

Reward vouchers

The most valuable thing in the scheme, and the least understood. A voucher does not contain points — it covers the points cost of a second seat or a cabin upgrade, up to a ceiling set by your tier.

Reward vouchers

Companion voucher

Book one reward seat, with points or cash, and bring someone with you on the voucher. You still pay the taxes, fees and carrier charges on their seat.

Upgrade voucher

Move an existing booking up a cabin: Economy to Premium, Premium to Upper Class, or Economy straight to Upper Class.

What it is worth

You choose which of the two a voucher becomes when you use it. What it is worth depends on your tier at the moment you redeem, not when you earned it:

That is the quiet argument for reaching Silver before spending one: the same voucher is worth twice as much.

The rules that catch people out

You earn them by holding a Virgin Atlantic credit card and hitting its annual spend threshold, or by holding Gold status.

Common questions

How much is a Virgin Atlantic companion voucher worth?

It covers up to 75,000 Virgin Points at Red, or up to 150,000 at Silver and Gold. Your tier at the time you redeem it is what counts, not your tier when you earned it.

How long does a Virgin Atlantic reward voucher last?

24 months from the date it is earned, and the outbound flight must depart on or before the expiry date.

Can you use a companion voucher on a partner airline?

No. Vouchers work only on Virgin Atlantic-operated flights.
