Virgin Atlantic credit cards

Virgin Money issues two Virgin Atlantic cards in the UK. They differ in three ways that matter: the annual fee, the earn rate, and how much you must spend to earn a reward voucher.

Which one is worth it

The Reward+ card earns at double the rate and reaches a voucher at half the spend, which is the whole argument for the £160. At 1.5 points per £1 the fee is covered by roughly £10,700 of spending if you value a point at a penny — and that is the same spend that triggers the voucher, which is where the real value sits.

Put concretely: £10,000 through the Reward+ card earns 15,000 Virgin Points and a voucher worth up to 150,000 points at Silver or Gold. The same £10,000 on the free card earns 7,500 points and no voucher, because its threshold is £20,000.

Both cards cap monthly earning against your credit limit, and bonus points sit outside that cap. Your Flying Club account has to be linked to the card for any of it to land.
